Elizabeth Hurley Is A New Wonder Woman Evil Villain

Elizabeth Hurley says she has been cast as the 'evil villain' in a new 'Wonder Woman' pilot for NBC.

She joins Adrianne Palicki, 28, of 'Friday Night Lights' fame, who will play the superhero herself on the program, spearheaded by 'Ally McBeal' and Boston 'Legal' showrunner David E. Kelley.

Thrilled to be doing the NBC pilot Wonder Woman, Hurley said on her Twitter page. I'll be playing the evil villain. Can't wait.

The 45-year-old British actress Hurley, is known for her roles in movies such as, Austin Powers International Man of Mystery and 'Bedazzled'.

The new 'Wonder Woman' pilot is expected to air later this year. The show, simply titled 'Wonder Woman', is the retelling of the superhero and her alter ego Diana Prince, who is a businesswoman by day and a crime fighter by night.

The lasso-wielding superhero was most noticeably seen in live-action form from 1975 to 1979, when 'The New Adventures of Wonder Woman' television series starring Lynda Carter aired.
A 'Wonder Woman' film is also being developed by Warner Bros. Pictures and is as of now set for release in 2013, according to preliminary casting lists. 'Mad Men' star Christina Hendricks has expressed interest in the project.

When asked by the UK newspaper The Times about reports that said she may star in a 'Wonder Woman' adaptation, former 'Transformers' actress Megan Fox called the character a 'lame superhero'.

Carter said the actress should not have trashed her former character.
