Melissa Gilbert has split from her husband Bruce Boxleitner after 16 years of marriage.
The American actress most famous for playing 'Laura Ingalls' on the show 'Little House on the Prairie', has split from her actor husband Bruce Boxleitner, reports People Magazine.
Gilbert and her husband were last seen together in December, when they attended the premiere of the movie 'Tron: Legacy' in Los Angeles. The reason for the separation is currently unknown, but Gilbert requested privacy in a statement, saying, We have loved each other for a very long time and we share four incredible sons together. On behalf of our family we ask to be allowed our privacy during this difficult time.
The couple only have one child together, but Gilbert has a 21-year-old son from her previous marriage with Bo Brinkman and Boxleitner has two sons aged 30 and 25 from his marriage with Kathryn Ogilvy.
Melissa Gilbert, a former President of the Screen Actors Guild, made her latest notable screen appearance in 2006 when she starred as 'Shari Noble' in the television drama series 'Nip/Tuck'.
