Television host Chelsea Handler's upcoming NBC sitcom, 'Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea', has reportedly already lost three actors ahead of its midseason debut.
The show is based on Chelsea Handler's memoir by the same name and stars Laura Prepon from the sitcom 'That '70s Show' as the talk show host and comedienne. Handler plays her own sister, Sloane. The show depicts the title star's life in Los Angeles.
Actor Jo Koy has appeared on Chelsea Handler's E! Entertainment talk show 'Chelsea Lately', Angel Laketa Moore of 'ER' fame and Natalie Morales from NBC series 'Parks and Recreation' were cast on 'Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea' but were recently 'let go' for 'creative reasons', TV Line reported. An NBC spokesperson had no immediate comment. The three appear in promotional photos for the NBC pilot.
Chelsea Handler is young, strong-willed, and a force of nature determined to live life to the fullest and make no apologies, reads NBC's official description for the show. Her friends are along for the ride, but they all know it's Chelsea's way or the highway.
Jo Koy was to play, a charming bartender whose wit makes him the perfect foil for Chelsea. Moore was originally cast as a smart and sassy fellow waitress who looks out for Chelsea's best interests and Morales character, Ivory, was described as Chelsea's feisty best friend.
The Other supporting actors include Lauren Lapkus, who plays Chelsea Handler's 'sheltered, shy roommate' Dee Dee, Lenny Clarke, who portrays the comedienne's father.
